Yes, and this is one of the most common setups in Dubai apartments that lack a dedicated utility room. The cold supply connection is usually taken from the existing bathroom supply, the drain hose goes into a standpipe or floor drain, and the machine sits in a recessed area or under a counter. We assess the space and confirm the drain arrangement is correct before committing to the installation.
If the drain hose isn’t secured at the standpipe, the force of the water pumping out can push it free. The fix is to clip the drain hose to the standpipe at the correct height — the top of the hose loop should be between 60 and 90cm from the floor to prevent back-siphoning. We’ll also check the standpipe diameter is correct for your machine’s drain hose and that it’s not sealed too tightly, which can cause pump back-pressure.
Most modern washing machines in Dubai use a cold-fill-only system — the machine heats the water internally using its own element. Only older machines or certain specialist models use a separate hot fill. When we install a washing machine supply we connect a cold supply with an isolator valve. If your machine has a hot fill connection as well, let us know and we’ll arrange both supplies.
We’d recommend turning off the isolator valve or the closest supply valve when the machine isn’t in use until it’s repaired. A slow weep at a connector can become a significant leak if the fitting fails further, and in an apartment it can damage the unit below very quickly. Most supply hose replacements take under an hour — it’s worth getting it sorted promptly rather than risk a larger problem.
Yes. Under-counter installation in a kitchen is standard in many Dubai apartments. We tee off the cold supply under the sink, route it neatly to the machine position, and connect the drain hose into the sink waste via a standpipe or spigot. We’ll confirm the routing is practical before starting and advise if any pipework needs to be chased into the wall or can run exposed under the cabinet.
